Going Up Country Women’s Tee

Long before Canned Heat made the phrase ubiquitous at their infamous Woodstock Festival performance, this phrase simply meant “i’m heading upstate” from New York City. Women’s cut comes in red clay, super soft and light triblend cotton.

Going Up Country – this famous saying famous from the 1960’s summed up an attitude held by many young people who were eligible for the draft.  Over 30,000 young men moved to Canada to avoid fighting in the Vietnam war – a cause they could not support.  The song Going Up The Country was made famous by the blues band Canned Heat, and reached number 11 in the Billboard Charts in January 1969.
Our high-quality cotton t-shirt for both men and women is a Bearsville thumbs-up to that outlook.  Today our message about getting into the Catskills for fun, rest and relaxation is as important as ever.
